Pastor John Collins: What is truth?
“The truth does lie inside of you and it is accessible to you.”~ Pastor John Collins.
Have you ever
felt that there is a space inside of you that needs to be filled? Do you search for something to fill that
void? We are created with the need for
God. The space that we feel is our soul
reaching for God.
Pastor John Collins, evangelist and pastor of Love That Cross
Ministries, posts daily devotionals
that speak to our souls. God created us,
created that drive
in us to need Him. Our world is methodically erasing the “foundation of
faith” (Pastor
John Collins, 2018) that is necessary for hope
and trust in God. Society has so much evil,
so much negative,
it’s difficult to peel away from the world
because it clings
to us like a skin that
we can’t
shed. It’s taking us away
from God and the
acceptance
of sin as normal
drives us further
from God.
What do you look
forward to when you wake up in the morning?
There is more to life than a cup of coffee and a cigarette, more to
living than updating Pinterest and Twitter. Do you take time to shut off the
“noise” in the background and give your soul a chance to search and find faith,
find God? Are you so busy being busy you
don’t even notice that your life is actually void of true joy?
Pastor John Collins, through his revival tours and continued
determination to bring God back
into our daily lives, gives us the direction and encouragement to seek the
answers for ourselves. We need to begin
the proverbial soul searching in order to fill that void with truth, the truth that
is God~Ron Barnes.
Pastor John Collins, What is truth?
“For I proclaim the name of the Lord: ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.” Deut. 32:3-4 (NKJV).
What is truth? Where does the truth of your soul lie? What do you claim as your truth and where does that perception stem from? Does it come from deep within you in the small still of the night when your breathing is slow and you allow the truth of your smallness to penetrate your bones? Do you consider how precious you are to the One who created you? Do you allow your perceptions of truth to be guided by the current social standards, by the way in which you are perceived by those you encounter, or by the beliefs of others? Do you consider your eternity and just what time without end means to your soul?
There is an overwhelming push in our world to undo what was done by the God of us all. There is a systematic chipping away of the foundation of our faith. There is a falling away of trust in our God and in the salvation that He has provided. There are some who focus on attempting to use science to discredit, some who use modern thought to undermine the righteousness of days gone by and there are those who prey on the hope of the believer by using the truth to further their own power and glory. Thieves and robbers are those who attempt to steal the eternal security of a soul away. It is easily done. It is hard to hope and trust in God when you can look around and see so much evil, hypocrisy and enabling of sin to the point that many sins are not even considered sins any longer. There needs to come a moment in the life of a person when they get serious about what they believe is true and what they choose to do about that truth.
God is true. God did create this world and God did create life. God did that. God did choose to have His Son Jesus walk this earth, suffer the rejection and be condemned to die on that cross. God did raise Jesus from the dead and God did create heaven and hell and we have the choice of either for ourselves. God is truth and there is nothing that can change that fact. The truth does lie inside of you and it is accessible to you. Prayer is a powerful thing and it is a direct link to Jesus and to God. Our hearts are created to desire this knowledge, this connection and this truth. We must be willing to hear that truth, to see that truth and to have the courage to ask for that truth if we are without the conviction inside of ourselves to trust in the truth of God. And when that truth is known, it is up to us to respond accordingly, to trust accordingly and to hope accordingly.
“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: ‘For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.’ But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.” Hebrews 10:35-39 (NKJV).
