PASTOR JOHN COLLINS DAILY DEVOTIONALS: TOMORROW ISN'T A GUARANTEE!

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, EVANGELIST:  Wake up and get right with God!

The saying goes “the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.” Superficially, this can mean something to the effect that if you say you are going to do it, do it. If you promise to do it, then do it, or what you say and do is meaningless. Pastor John Collins of Love That Cross Ministries and Pastor John Collins Ministries puts a more complete view on the saying:  You can have all the best intentions in the world, and even act on those intentions and do the right things for people, but if your heart isn’t focused on God and the salvation that is given by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross, and getting closer to Them in your heart and soul, then all the good acts and intentions that you do throughout your life are meaningless, you are not going to make it to heaven, and hell is pretty full of people who had good intentions (paraphrased, Pastor John Collins).

Don’t be lazy in your faith, or have the expectation that you can confess your sins twenty minutes before you die so you can cover your bases.  Saying that you believe in Jesus Christ and God is empty unless you have the full commitment of your heart and the opportunity to act upon that faith.  The road to salvation begins in an instant, it takes a lifetime to continue the path, work out your faith, and face the tests and challenges that build the faith that begins with accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior.  It isn’t just giving lip service says Pastor John Collins.

“It is time to wake up and get right with God. God doesn’t fool around and God will not cease from being God but He will continue to be that great and almighty Lord that sees everything and everyone as they truly are and He will be the one who has the last laugh. It is not okay to take your life, your actions, your words and your feelings lightly. They all matter and they all will be taken into account when it comes to judging your soul. Each person will be judged and each person will either go up or go down and it really is that simple.” (Pastor John Collins, February, 2018).

Pastor John Collins is a down to earth, no nonsense evangelist who has been spreading revival of hope and faith across the United States for more than three years.  Pastor John Collins has a very enthusiastic style of preaching, with a “tell it like it is” attitude without the sugar coating of so many in pulpits today.  As he puts it, Pastor John Collins will grab you by the britches when he preaches.  The Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ have been so twisted and altered in the past 2000 years, Pastor John Collins is determined to redeem the Gospel so that all can hear the word of Jesus as it was taught during the times of Jesus Christ’s ministry.  The fear of standing before the throne of God and being judged upon entering eternity is not being taught at all, instead prominent pastors preach prosperity through our tithes or that the Old Testament doesn’t matter, it’s been replaced by the New Testament, or if we say we were saved on December 25, 1977, we are always saved, and there is no need to seek daily forgiveness for our sins….all of this is wrong teachings of current day preachers, and one day, there will be an accounting says Pastor John Collins.

Pastor John Collins writes:

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28 (NKJV).
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31 (NKJV).

We live in dangerous times, as have all of those who ever walked this earth. It is a perilous thing to live without faith and it is more dangerous to live without belief in the Son of God than it is to live in a land filled with terrorists and civil unrest. People pay attention to what they can see and people will fear what they can sense can cause them harm but people don’t fear what they can’t see and when people walk without faith then they are blind and without the ability to perceive the danger to their souls.

It is not a time to be casual in your faith. It is time to wake up and get right with God. Each person will be judged and each person will either go up or go down and it really is that simple.

You have no guarantee of tomorrow and you only get this one chance at life so take it seriously and don’t put off until another day your relationship with God. God sent Jesus to die for you and you should be thanking Jesus for the strength and obedience that was in His soul so that your soul could be saved. You should cherish and nurture your relationship with Jesus and praise God always. Come to know what is expected of you and do that. The rules are not going to change and the gospel must be obeyed just as Jesus has said. There will not be favorites given a pass because they are just so cute or so charming. There are lots of good people in hell today and there will be many more that follow. Do what you must so that you are not one of them.

“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.” John 14:23-24 (NKJV).

Pastor John recently posted this daily devotional on his Facebook page.  There has been a lot of violence, kidnappings, killings in the news these past few days.  This is not the work of God, it is the work of evil and man's will.  The more hate is generated, from leaders to neighborhoods, the more the spirit of Satan grows and spreads.  Hate is that poison, and violence is the child of it.

http://www.betheltempletwinfalls.org/

“The Lord tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.” Psalm 11:5

What is wrong with people? The shootings, the killings, the attacks, the intent to harm and the general hatred of our brothers and sisters here on earth has brought us face to face with the spirit of Cain. Why don’t people care? Why are children harmed and families destroyed? Goodness, why have we systematically removed God from our lives? People, don’t you see or care that the spirit of Satan is alive and well and growing?

We hate each other, we hate ourselves, we hate our lives and we hate the rules. We hate listening, we hate obedience and we hate being wrong. We hate and whether any of you want to admit it or not, there is a judgmental and hateful attitude that fills this world up and violence is its child. People are rude, nasty, dismissive and cruel. People are selfish, ugly on the inside and malicious.

There is a day coming that will bring shock and that will scare people into listening to the truth and desiring the will of God. There will also be those who will always choose evil and will always thrive on the pain of another. It is imperative that you choose which way you want to live your life because small things turn into big things and before you know it your heart is full of hate. An argument that is unresolved turns to a grudge that becomes spite and hateful words can turn into a raised fist or a bullet shot from a gun.

Every little piece of you makes up the whole picture and you cannot be a person that carries anger, bitterness, frustration and rage around in your heart and not act out in ways that are vicious and mean. You cannot be a smack talking parent who berates their child and insults casually those who despise without raising a hateful human who turns out to be filled with malice. Hate trickles down and poisons the children that it touches. Hate spreads out and poisons the communities that it touches. Our world is infected and there is just not enough people willing to stand up and tell the truth; that this world has chosen evil over good and the only way to right this wrong is to return to God and the Lord Jesus Christ so that we can be healed. There are many that are not able to claim salvation but the saddest thing is when salvation is so close and people just won’t grab on to the holy hands that are held out to them.

People need to be willing to let go of hate, let go of hurt and to stop the violence, to stop the vicious cycle of destroying one another in any way possible. People need to begin to think of their eternal destinations and not their earthly battles and daily struggles that are keeping them imprisoned by the spirit of evil. People need to stop the hate day by day, hour by hour if needed and to choose to turn to Christ and be healed.

“Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. And so this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.” Romans 13:10-12.

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, LOVE THAT CROSS MINISTRIES: The Cross and Idolatry, art vs. sin.

Pastor John Collins, with Love That Cross Ministries says it like it is, like is should be.  Worshiping a statue is worshiping an idol, but placing a decoration as a reminder of our faith is not idol worship.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Exodus 20:4-6

Idolatry has always been a problem in this world and God knows our weaknesses. People like pretty things and they also like what they can see and touch. There is a reason why people were told not to carve images because God has always known that people would end up honoring the ‘thing’ that was created by them.

People give power to objects, even those objects that are not considered ‘holy’ but may be merely sentimental. People place value on things and when something is created that is said to be ‘holy’ then people will begin to revere it and ‘bow down’ to it. Carved images and golden objects such as Gideon’s ephod become stumbling blocks to people. It is easy to see how people are led astray by statues and such.

Paintings of our Lord or crosses that are decoration should be seen as physical reminders of our faith to God and Jesus Christ and never as something to worship and bow down to. Our homes should reflect our faith not with creepy statues of Mary but with our Bibles, possibly a cross hung on the wall, a picture of a biblical story or scripture that fills us with joy. We should not be fearful of worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth which never includes bowing down to a portrait or sculpture or worshiping some carved image.

Believe it or not, God is protecting us from our own nature by commanding us to never make carved images in any likeness. Never place such value on any object. Worship the Lord with a pure heart and trust in that. We don’t need statues but a framed piece of scripture is lovely to look upon and ponder.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:5-9
