PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, LOVE THAT CROSS MINISTRIES: Get to know GOD!

Pastor John Collins, Love That Cross Ministries who is recognized as an influential pastor in America, is reaching out in his passion for truth and salvation in this post from his Facebook pages.  He gives us a no nonsense and to the point call to examine our hearts and how we approach the political correctness that we face in sitting on the fence with our faith and how we view evil in today's world.  He calls it like it is.  We need to get to know our God, up close and personal.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.” 1 Peter 5:8-9

What is evil, to you? Is it the serial killer, the rapist, the pedophile, the abusive husband, the opportunistic killer or the thief that robs grandma and grandpa of their retirement? Is it the cheating spouse, the gay friend, the liar, the determined worker who will find success or die trying? Is it the town gossip, the school bully or vain mommy? What does evil look like to you?

Many of the things that are listed in the bible have been deemed archaic rules of nonsense to many people, even many Christians. Many people are devoted to the civilized progress of being politically correct and polite to all. So many people are offended at the judgment of others that they have stopped using discernment in their own lives. Judgment comes with condemnation and discernment comes with wisdom.

God says that evil is all of the above and it is when you do not agree with Him that evil is so easy to build in your heart and commit in your lives. Satan says that it is your right to know everything and to enjoy it all. Satan says that life is for you to take what you want and share it with your loved ones. Just because Hollywood had made you familiar with evil and has encouraged evil in this world does not mean that you are supposed to agree with them.

Do not be so determined to not judge a person or situation that you give up your ability to discern evil and holy from all things. There is right and wrong and just because the world says that it is no big deal to be evil, it is. There isn’t any sin that gets a pass because it has become common in society. Just because everyone is doing it does not make it okay.

Get to know God and learn what He considers evil and if you don’t want to be evil then call on Jesus Christ who died for your sins and is willing to forgive you when your repent with a genuinely remorseful heart and will then lead you toward righteousness. Only the righteous will get into heaven.

“For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterword would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)-then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment.” 2 Peter 2:4-9 LOVE THAT CROSS, PASTOR JOHN
