PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES DAILY THOUGHTS: OLD TESTAMENT AND TODAY

"Tend to your heart and mind daily, and pray your way through life"~
Pastor John Collins, John Collins Ministries

Are we any different from the Israelites who time and time again turned away from God?  As individuals and a nation, do we take the history of the Bible and really read it, understand  it, and learn to fear and revere our just God?  The Old Testament was not replaced by the New Testament and the life of Jesus Christ.  The Old Testament stands as a testimony for us, examples if you will, of how we should NOT behave in the face of God who will judge us fairly.  God gave chances to the Israelites again and again, with the best chance the resurrection of Jesus.  It is up to us to choose whether we accept the truth that is written, and Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries is redeeming the Gospel so that we can understand that truth, once and for all, to make an educated choice in truth, knowledge and wisdom.

From John Collins Ministries:

“You will say then, ‘Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.’  Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.  For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.” Romans 11:19-21 (NKJV).

Why is the Old Testament relevant? It is there to teach you how God deals with His people. As believers in Jesus Christ, you must know what is expected of you in your relationship with God and in order to know this you are to become knowledgeable in how He dealt with the Jews who are the natural branches of the olive tree, while you are of the wild olive tree.

There is a need to recognize the mistakes that the Jewish people made in their relationship with God so that you do not make the same ones. Do not become overconfident in your faith but always maintain reverence and awe in your contemplation of the Lord. Do not become too caught up in making money and gaining financial success that you forget the basics of your faith. Do not forget to tend to your heart and mind daily and to pray your way through life.

There are just too many people that do not put in any real effort or consistent effort toward getting into heaven but just assume that they are going there. Don’t take Jesus for granted but work your butt off to do as He has told you to do.

Never walk through life with any conceit because you know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and you believe in Him but have humility and pity for those that have yet to come to that knowledge and be willing to live a life that shines for Jesus so that others may come to the cross because of you.

“Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.” Romans 11:22 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES DAILY THOUGHT: I CAN'T

Sometimes we feel so discouraged, so full of doubt we just do not have it within us to take one more step.  Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries relates the story of Thomas that gives us an example showing that we are not alone, this is nothing new, and hope is there for us.

From John Collins Ministries:

I can’t

Following the resurrection of Jesus, Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord and He appeared unto them later that evening. Thomas was not with them at this appearing and when the other disciples told Thomas of seeing Jesus, he said, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” John 20:25 (NKJV).

Thomas was given the opportunity to do so and when he had, he said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:28

Thomas walked with Jesus, saw the miracles and knew the power of God. He knew that Jesus would be resurrected and had been told many things prior to them happening. And yet, he doubted. He faltered in the strength of his belief. That did not stop Jesus from wanting him to be an apostle. Jesus always knew who would struggle with what. Jesus knew that Thomas would doubt and Jesus knows that each of us has within us weaknesses in our faith.

There are times when doubt will creep in and erode away at the confidence you feel. There are times when doubt may frustrate you and pull you away from your devotion to God. There are times when you may feel lost and empty, unable to hold on to your faith and hope, wanting the proof of the print of the nails. That doubt is where Satan attacks us the most, in our minds. We must be aware of the enemy and fight the good fight to stay in faith.

At those times of questions and avoidance you must ask yourself what matters to you. You must choose to seek what you hold on to and grab on with all you have got. All that is in this world is passing and what we have is only temporary. The truth of our souls is eternal and is encompassed in our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of daily confidence and our faith in Him is our true connection to each other.

Struggles and doubts are not unusual and Jesus knows our every fear. He will help you overcome and stand firm in your faith. Yet, you have to make the choice of what you think on, you have to make an effort to keep your mind on things above and not on things that will tear you away from believing in heaven and your day to day life that will lead you there.

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES, DAILY THOUGHT: BEATITUDES FOR TODAY

From John Collins, Evangelist:

Today’s Beatitudes

“Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion; And to You the vow shall be performed. O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come. Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them.” Psalm 65:1-3 (NKJV).

Blessed are you who know the power of the cross and the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessed is the lonely pilgrim making his way home because of the hope that the cross provides

Blessed is the one who looks upon Jesus with trust and conviction.

Blessed is the sinner who finds redemption in grace.

“Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple.” Psalm 65:4 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES, DAILY THOUGHT: THE COST

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS DAILY THOUGHT:

Counting the cost, Jesus and the Cross

The devil did to Jesus what he did to Eve, twisted the words
of God.  We need to be aware of our faith and our unbelief, and
we have Jesus to help us.
Pastor John Collins, John Collins Ministries

God sent His Son, Jesus to us.  Jesus came as human, to live among humans, to show people how to live righteously (doing the right thing).  The first humans were Adam and Eve.  Satan had been cast from heaven before God created Adam and Eve because Satan thought he was better than God; he was jealous of what God created and in his continued war against God, he continues to take as much as he can.  When Jesus came as human, Satan tempted Him as he did Eve, as he does us.  Jesus, in His weakness, showed us that it is possible to stand against Satan and all that he uses to claim us and take us away from God. From Pastor John Collins, Evangelist and John Collins Ministries, remember what it cost Jesus to give us hope against what Satan throws at us.  Don't take Him or your faith for granted.

From Pastor John Collins, Evangelist:

“And the devil said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread. But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”

Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”

Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’” And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” Luke 4:3-12 (NKJV).

These are the temptations that Jesus was tempted with. It is interesting to take note of the temptations and the responses that Jesus gave. Satan tempted with scripture. The devil did to Jesus what he had done to Eve which is to twist things to his benefit and lure. Jesus responded with scripture as well and that is what I would like for you to take note of. There were three temptations and three responses.

Since Jesus had not eaten in 40 days, he was very hungry. Satan said to turn the stones to bread, which brought the response that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God. This was a temptation for the bodies’ natural desires. Hunger, shelter, passion, love, and all of our base desires should never be given into when it compromises our relationship with God. We need to trust that when we put God first, He will provide what we need, maybe not what we want but what we need.

Satan then offered Jesus authority and power over the kingdoms of the world if Jesus would worship Satan. Jesus responded by rebuking Satan and reminding him that only God is to he worshipped and served. We should never desire power and status. We need to be careful of what is offered to us and at what cost. That big promotion, the company car, the stock tip, the client who is not so honest but will bring big bucks and you can fill in the blanks on the possible exchange of status and your soul. We must make sure that any advancement that we are given in life comes along side our worship of God.

We must put our faith first because when we choose to give in to the desires of moving up in this world without God, we are choosing to place our material wants along with our craving authority in our own right above our desire for God and Jesus.

Satan then tells Jesus from the top of the temple to throw Himself down and trust that the angels will catch Him. Jesus responds with the truth that you shall not tempt God. Oh, this is a doozy. So many of us are guilty of this. I believe that the apathy that society has for God has led to more and more tempting of Him. People just don’t fear God anymore. People say things out loud that are tempting God and they do things that are tempting Him as well. We need to be aware of our words and our actions, that they do not tempt God, especially His wrath because of unbelief or doubt. Every idle word will be accounted for.

Take note of how you think of God and Jesus. Take seriously your faith. Don’t take for granted your time here on earth and most importantly, get your priorities straight. Get on your knees and pray with sincerity. Take the time to become a disciple of Christ. Don’t assume anything because you never want to get lazy in your faith.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES, DAILY THOUGHT: TATTOOS

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, EVANGELIST: Leviticus 19:28

“And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelations 19:16 (NKJV).

Lev. 19:28....God was giving instructions to His people
about how to worship Him and honor Him.
Pastor John Collins, Evangelist

Tattoos are taboo, right? Wrong!! There has been “religious” debates over the topic of tattoos for years and years. There has been so much misinterpretation on this subject. I approach not only the bible but also life with common sense and with the goal of understanding things from God’s perspective. With that goal in mind, I try to gain knowledge of the lesson in the words that were written down for our benefit and apply them with common sense to life. Seems simple, right?

The Leviticus text that was written to instruct the Israelites not to mark their bodies with cuttings or tattoos were told to them so that they would not do so in honor of the dead. Idolatry was a problem then and it is a problem now. With so many people seeking psychics and mediums today, you can see that the human desire for connection to those that we have lost to death remains. Those that lived prior to Jesus did not know that He was their mediator to God and also did not know for certain what happened to those souls that passed on.

God made it clear that they were not to worship the dead nor ask for them to “intercede” on their behalf. They were not to seek necromancers nor sorcerers and witches or seers. There have always been people who get caught up in idolizing those that have gone before them such as a child idolizing a parent and vice versa or a people idolizing a leader. God was giving instructions to His people about how to worship Him and honor Him. A very necessary lesson was to establish the most important law which was a forbidding of idolatry which included marking anyone’s body in honor of the dead. It was no different than forbidding any altars being made for false gods.

Now, Jesus, in Revelations is seen with a mark upon His thigh. It is written. It is obvious to me that the issue of tattoos and forbidding of marking the body is about idolatry and not the tattoo itself. I, personally, have tattoos and love them. I do not believe that God wants to deny us personal expression nor choices about whether we want to put ink in our skin. He wants us to be aware of our choices of artistic representation and what it means to us and to our souls. Personally, I love that Cross and I have crosses tattooed on my arms which fills me with strength, confidence and love knowing that Jesus died on that Cross for all.

We are never to place anyone or anything above our Lord and Savior nor our Father in heaven. We are to worship in spirit and truth. Yet, we are individuals and many choose to cover their bodies in permanent art and text. There needs to be less judgment and more understanding of the purpose of the forbidding laws that are in the bible. If we could just look at the lessons and make the effort to see things as God sees them then we would be better equipped to have knowledge and understanding in this world which would translate to tolerance and love for others without judging them.

“From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” Galatians 6:17 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES, DAILY THOUGHT: FINDING HEAVEN

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS: SUNSHINE, ROSES, ICE CREAM.....

“For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Jude 4 (NKJV).

“Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.” Jude 11 (NKJV).

Taking advantage of people and situations is not new. From the beginning of time jealousy, envy, a desire to be above others and have the power has driven man. It is no different today. It penetrates every aspect of life and the church is not immune. There are pastors on the pulpit that are an abomination. There are men and women out there committing terrible acts and when they are caught, they say…sorry. And their congregations stand behind them. There are times when people are so blind that it saddens me. Child molestation and homosexual acts are not things that a man of God should be doing and if caught that man should be removed from the position of having the influence over a congregation. That man’s guidance is not of God, but of Satan. Why do we not stand up and remove these leaders in the church from having authority in our churches?

Why do we tolerate being led by men and women who are obviously preaching for profit? Do we think that Jesus would approve of our listening to their teachings? Oh, but we like what they say, don’t we? We like being told that God wants us to be happy and successful, right? That we should seek that above all things, right? Happiness is not the goal people, heaven is! And it is not a path that is lined with sunshine, roses and ice cream cones. We are stubborn people and to give us what makes us happy our whole lives is to condemn us to hell. We would never learn, never grow in our faith or wisdom and we would consume all we could seeking our own pleasures. Do not be fooled. I am not saying that God wants you miserable. But Jesus did not promise us a life of ease. He said we would be persecuted and hated of this world. When you seek to find your place in this world, you know you are of this world. You should seek to find your place in heaven while you are sojourning in this world.

Be careful who you follow in your faith. Be sure that their teachings are sound. And be sure that they are complete. You cannot cherry pick the Bible. You must teach it all, not bits and pieces that uphold your own point of view or agenda. The best way to know if the teachings of someone on the pulpit is correct is to read and know your Holy Bible yourself. Do not hesitate to commit yourself to learning more and spending more time in the good book. Do not blindly follow the blind.

“Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.” Luke 12:1-2 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES DAILY THOUGHTS: CHOOSE LIFE!

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, EVANGELIST: 5 MINUTES, ALL I NEED

Pastor John Collins, John Collins Ministries evangelist  is reaching out in his passion for truth and salvation.  He gives us a no nonsense and to the point call to examine our hearts, as Christians,  and how we approach the political correctness that we face in sitting on the fence with our faith and how we view evil in today's world.  He calls it like it is.  We need to get to know our God, up close and personal.

LIVE!!

God judges us on those actions, and our actions alone are what determine where we will be spending the rest of our life, after this one is gone.  Decide what is important to you.

Life-the choice

From John Collins Ministries:

“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV).

“The way of life winds upward for the wise, that he may turn away from hell below.” Proverbs 15:24 (NKJV).

There is a process to growing up, claiming adulthood and proceeding to live your life. There are choices that you make and each one of those choices determines who you are and who you will become. Those that are aware of their eternal soul and want to go to heaven learn to make those choices by determining the good will of the Lord and choosing to do His will.

You may not think that it is any big deal to tell a lie, omit the truth or to be selfish in this one small matter. You may think nothing of passing up an opportunity to be kind and compassionate just this once. You may think that work is more important than that baseball game or that home cooked meal. You may think that you can make it up to them at another time. You may think that you deserve to let loose and finally have some fun so who will it hurt if you have that fling, you deserve it. You may think that there is plenty of time in the future for you to settle down and be boring and do what the Lord expects of you but He knows your motives and intentions and all of those things will be taken into account.

Each day you will make choices that will lead you toward righteousness or toward wickedness. Each day will determine your character and where your eternal resting place will be. Each little choice that you make adds up to the totality of your life. Choose Jesus and choose to live.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, DAILY DEVOTIONS: BEFORE YOU SPEAK, WAIT

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, EVANGELIST: MURDER BY MOUTH

Once we say something, we can't take it back.  Consider the words that you are going to say before you say them.  Too many harsh words have created bitter fights, resentments that need to be worked out on both sides, and can shake the foundation of a relationship that isn't based in a strong faith in Jesus Christ.  You say much with your tone and your body language and your facial expressions, and we need to be conscious of what we truly are saying.

Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries writes:

"But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” James 3:8 (NKJV).

Your tone of voice is an indication of the true intent behind your words. Someone may say something that is true and yet the way in which it is said and the words that are chosen are either combative and malicious, calm and soothing, frank and impartial, or ingratiating and patronizing. Each of us should always be careful of intentions and try to avoid causing others to stumble in this life.

Our emotions determine our actions. When we are angry at someone and have no forgiveness in our hearts for a situation or person then our speech about anything concerning that situation or person will be hateful and bitter. When we are jealous of someone then our speech about them will be spiteful and cutting. When we are hurt we can lash out and try to hurt in return and say awful things that cannot be taken back but just becomes the next set of words and the next situation that must be repented of and forgiven. Life is exhausting if you do not manage to gain the perspective that permits you to desire to seek righteousness and obtain that goal.

Righteousness is doing the right thing all of the time and not just when it suits you. Jesus was righteous and His life taught that you can become righteous and you can do the right thing. You do this by choosing to learn how God sees things and by trusting that God will take care of the justice of this world. Humans are prideful and stubborn and always want to think that they are the wronged party, the misunderstood and the victimized. Humans just have that wrong.

Jesus came and showed us that life isn’t fair, life is tough, and people are judgmental and can be hateful. Jesus came and showed us that forgiveness is right, kindness is good and that God does value His children. Jesus showed us that our words have the power to hurt, heal, encourage, deflate, inspire and so many other wonderful and terrible things. You need to be willing to give your soul a chance at salvation and to that you need to be willing to obey the Lord, hear the Lord and submit to the Lord. You cannot do that if you are always right, always defensive or offensive, prideful, stubborn, unforgiving, hateful, bitter or unwilling to bend.

“Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell.” James 3:5-6 (NKJV).

LOVE THAT CROSS, PASTOR JOHN

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: TORAH OR THE BIBLE

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS: DITCHING JESUS

Christians are DITCHING the salvation of JESUS! In a search for answers, instead of drawing closer to understanding Judaism, Christians are turning to the very doctrine that Jesus came to correct and LOSING their salvation says Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries.

FROM PASTOR JOHN COLLINS:

Jesus answered them and said, ‘My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.” John 7:16-17 (NKJV).

Christianity is going through a crisis of immense proportions. People have been waking up to the truth of the history of the church, to the paganism within the church and to the abuse of grace that has produced so much disobedience to God. Jesus was very clear in stating that you must obey the Father and not just believe, for it is those who love Him that are obedient. That being said, there are Christians everywhere who are taking their wake up call that was from God and jumping ship all together. There are Christians who have desired to start at the beginning, get to know the Torah and study the word of God to know what sin is, what obedience consists of, and what is promised in the prophecies. You have Christians going from learning about the feasts and wanting to observe them which has led to many seeking out rabbis to teach them which has led to them ditching Jesus and taking the steps to convert to Judaism. This is a problem and a big one. Those who are weak in their faith are finding themselves being convinced that Jesus is not the Son of God, that He was not the Messiah and that He was not even Torah observant Himself, but introduced pagan beliefs to His followers and created a new religion that has nothing to do with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Heaven forbid, but, it is true.

I will be very clear on this. God clearly instructed His feasts to be observed, they are prophetic and should be part of your knowledge. God clearly said that swine is an abomination, not only in the Torah but in Isaiah and unclean birds and detestable beasts are mentioned in Revelation which means that there are still clean and unclean animals. God said that the Sabbath was eternal and a sign between Him and His people and that keeping it would bring blessings. Now, there are many who claim that Jesus nailed to the cross all of the law of Moses, but, in truth what He did was pay the price of the curse of the law, as sin brought death and His death brings life, so we escape the penalty that our sin demands. There are many verses that clearly indicate that you should keep the law, but, there are the verses about grace too and there are so many parts of the law that are not possible to keep so there are many possible stumbling blocks to trip the believer up.

What does God want from you? He wants you to believe in Jesus and He wants to become a person after His own heart. How do you do that? You not only love your neighbor as yourself, but you study the word of God, you do your best to be obedient. Always think of the Sermon on the Mount and know that you are to not only obey the letter of the law, but more importantly, you are to obey the spirit of the law. Remember Jesus said, ‘Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.’ Matt. 5:19. Are you going to hell for not keeping the feasts? Certainly not, especially if you didn’t know. If you know, should you keep them to the best of your ability? Yes. Should you keep Sabbath? Certainly. If you work and are providing for your family, will God know and also know your heart? Yes. Jesus has given us freedom to trust Him, to love Him, to find the strength to forgive, to let go of hurt and find peace, to stop gossiping and to stop using our bodies to sin. By His stripes, we are healed.

Those who choose to honor God, to obey Torah and to seek to worship Him as it instructs, that is good as long as you don’t find yourselves lost in Jewish teachings, pitching Jesus into the trash bin and chucking your salvation into the toilet. To those who choose to continue to worship Jesus and God as they always have and to ignore the Torah people and the confusion that is running rampant, stay in prayer and trust that the Holy Spirit of God will guide you and keep you. It is better to cling to Jesus and trust in His grace than it is to see Christianity as only evil, Judaism as the only truth and lose your salvation through confusion, doubt and thereby ultimately rejecting your Savior.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” John 14:6 (NKJV).

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS, JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES: HATE THE SIN, NOT THE SINNER

PASTOR JOHN COLLINS:

We are a generation of enablers.

God does have mercy, grace, and longsuffering, as said by Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries and Love That Cross Ministries, but He does not reward sin. We enable others to continue in their actions of self-destruction when we don’t take a stand as Christians, when we allow ourselves to continue a path of self-righteousness and stubborn pride, when we make excuses for our actions and rebel against the very Word that Jesus taught over two millennia ago. Pastor John Collins it is time to get things right.

“It is time to stop making excuses by just saying that we are all sinners because Jesus knows, God knows and every sinner knows that they can do better, be better and can influence others to do the same. Righteousness is very achievable in life and begins with humility and a willingness to sacrifice. Each person chooses their destination in the end and it is necessary that the standards of God begin to be met because there has been too much loss of souls already and it just doesn’t have to be that way.” Pastor John Collins, May 2018.

We are not meant to sweep sin under the rug.  Sin is not to be sugar coated or justified.  Sin is meant to be talked about in the pulpit, because as Paul put it, the wages of sin is death….hell.

Pastor John Collins writes:

Hate the sin and not the sinner is all well and good to do but a sinner who continues in his sin without repentance and submission to the will of God through the salvation of Christ will eventually be judged as an enemy of God.

It has become easy to say that Jesus was the only perfect one and therefore there could never be any expectation for anyone else to live up to those standards although Jesus Himself said to be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect. It has also been noted that Jesus would be hanging out with the sinners and not with the righteous if He were to be here today and although that is true He definitely would not be hanging out with them to condone their sin but to heal them and to help lead them to righteousness in order to provide them with salvation.

Salvation does not come packaged with an acceptance of sin. God may have mercy and love for His people but He definitely does not have an enabling heart and He does not reward rebellion. He is slow to wrath and longsuffering but eventually His perfect and righteous judgment will fall on all and everyone will receive what they deserve.

It is time to stop making excuses by just saying that we are all sinners because Jesus knows, God knows and every sinner knows that they can do better, be better and can influence others to do the same. Righteousness is very achievable in life and begins with humility and a willingness to sacrifice. Each person chooses their destination in the end and it is necessary that the standards of God begin to be met because there has been too much loss of souls already and it just doesn’t have to be that way. It matters what you do here on earth and it is possible to go to heaven, you just have to want that more than you want to enjoy your existence while you are here and you have to want to obey God and know that He is right more than you have to want to be right yourself.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV).

LOVE THAT CROSS, PASTOR JOHN COLLINS

Pastor John Collins is leading a revival across the United States that has been gathering more momentum in the past few months.  From Heaven’s Country Radio at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mountain Time on Sundays to AM and FM stations across the nation, even reaching North Korea and other countries around the world, Pastor John Collins is spreading the word of God and redeeming the Gospel.  New television channels, films, interviews and more are on the horizon from Pastor John Collins and John Collins Ministries. The word of God and the Christian faith has been twisted over the lifetime of mankind.  Pastor John Collins is here to bring God back to everyone, in truth.  Pastor John Collins will not preach what you want to hear, Pastor John Collins will preach and teach what you need to hear.

Pastor John Collins is down to earth and he will be the first to tell you he did not begin life with the goal of becoming a preacher.   He wanted money and everything that came with it.  God found Pastor John Collins, not the other way around.  Pastor John Collins so frequently says he was “so far from the Cross, I needed binoculars to see it.  Now I get splinters in my hands from it!”  This world needs hope, preaches Pastor John Collins, and that is what God is giving everyone, a chance at hope, because the guy in the trailer is the same as the guy in the mansion in God’s eyes, and it is time for someone to lead a change, a revival.  Pastor John says “It’s time to do it right, to not be ‘another one of them’”, referring to those who use the pulpit for their personal gain and recognition. Pastor Collins forthrightly says it is time to use the pulpit to bring God to the people, and the people to the Cross and the salvation that is offered by the sacrifice of Jesus. Pastor John Collins and John Collins Ministries is here to help, to give a hand up, not a hand out.

JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES, DAILY THOUGHTS: COMPASSION

JOHN COLLINS MINISTRIES:  "LOVING KINDNESS"

We are not meant to walk through this life alone.  “No man is an island” is truth.  Learning to accept and receive help and kindness is a life-long long process.

Pastor John Collins of John Collins Ministries says “Do not let your pride deny others of their opportunity to serve God by helping you. Do not lean too heavily in either direction so that you do not become a burden nor defensive…. This is true for all aspects of our lives. We will go through situations in our lives that will bring us low and sting our pride. We will go through times of being lifted up that will challenge our egos and tempt our pride. Both sides of this coin is needed to test our faith and teach us the ways of God. We must be able to become humble. It is not worth it to hang on to your ego or to cling to your stubborn pride. Be done with it and let it go because it will never serve you well. In order to enter the kingdom of heaven we must allow God to stomp our pride in the dirt. Be willing to welcome that huge piece of humble pie” (April, 2018).

By Pastor John Collins:

“Thus says the Lord: ‘Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, excercising lovingkindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,’ says the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NKJV).

“Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.” Proverbs 3:3-4 (NKJV).

A kind person with a kind heart will do kind things for others. Mercy and compassion will drive a person to be considerate of others and to take the time to help others out. Thoughtfulness comes in so many different ways. It can be helping out a friend to move, getting groceries for an elderly neighbor, helping someone change a tire, giving a few dollars to the homeless or it could be taking the time to hear out your son or daughter which will give them the confidence in your relationship to learn to act with maturity and transparency.

Jesus has said that we should love one another. He gave us perfect examples for doing so. What happens when we deny another the opportunity to help us when it is our time? Our pride can stand in the way of our path to heaven. To everything there is a season and time. As we go through life, we will not always be in a position of helping others. We will come to a time or times in our lives when we should be accepting the help of others. You see, this is important in our faith. God will bring people into our lives that will further the faith of both parties. Sometimes you are the helper and sometimes you are the helped.

Each of us cannot stand alone. We were never meant to. It is a give and take in this life. We need to learn to be compassionate and kind as well as learn to be accepting of that same compassion and kindness when we need to. Our bodies are deteriorating all of the time. You cannot expect a 70 year old woman to move her household furniture by herself. She has passed the age of being able to do so. The Levites that took care of the tabernacle did so from the ages of 30-50 years. Their strength was greatest during these years and their service was limited to that time. There are seasons in all of our lives of physical strength and those seasons do pass. Do not let your pride deny others of their opportunity to serve God by helping you. Do not lean too heavily in either direction so that you do not become a burden nor defensive.

Be willing to welcome that huge piece of humble pie. Gobble it up and ask for more!

“For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” Romans 12:3 (NKJV).
